A Central Park Engagement · Manhattan
Tabby & Nikhil
The best backdrop was the one they already call home. Tabby and Nikhil live in Manhattan, so for their Central Park engagement session we didn’t have to go anywhere — just out the door on a bright summer morning, with the whole city standing in as scenery.
What followed was one of those easy, happy shoots where the direction mostly gets out of the way. Just two people who like each other a great deal, wandering their favorite park.
No rush, plenty of laughing
We took the Park the way they do on any good weekend — shaded paths, a bit of street art, a slow loop with nowhere to be. It’s the kind of pace that lets real expressions show up on their own, and they did.
Under the painted ceiling
Then the architecture. Beneath the hand-painted Minton tiles of Bethesda Terrace and through its carved stone arches, the two of them looked right at home in one of the most beautiful corners of the city.
Some couples travel for a backdrop like this. Theirs was a short walk from home.Central Park · Summer
The city, quietly photobombing
Out by the lake — the bridges, the water, the boats — the towers of Central Park West rose behind them, the whole skyline leaning in on the happiest people in it. A perfectly ordinary, perfectly magic New York morning.
The first chapter
A few months after this morning in the Park, Tabby and Nikhil married in New Jersey in a joyful blend of Chinese and Indian traditions — but it all started right here, in their own backyard.
