Caroline & Brent’s Family Farm Wedding in Hamburg, New Jersey

Some weddings are built around a venue. This one was built around a place that already meant something.

Caroline and Brent were married on June 20, 2026, on her family’s farm in Hamburg, New Jersey — the kind of day where the aisle is the front lawn, the ceremony backdrop is the porch of the house, and the cocktail hour happens under an open tent a few steps from the barn.

A Front Porch Ceremony

At three o’clock, the wedding party walked over from the side of the house and gathered at the porch. Twelve adults stood with them, plus four flower girls and a ring bearer — a full, loud, joyful crowd of people who have known this couple their whole lives.

Caroline told us early on that the vows were the part she was most looking forward to. You could see it. Those few minutes on the porch, with 165 people quiet behind them, were the heart of the entire day.

Portraits Around the Farm

After the ceremony we stayed right where they were married for a few frames, then spread out across the property. Open fields, warm late-afternoon light, and — at the couple’s request — the cows, who turned out to be excellent sports about the whole thing.

Family portraits happened in pockets around the farm rather than in one lined-up spot, which kept things moving and let everyone stay in the day instead of waiting their turn.

An Open Tent Reception

Guests moved into the tent for cocktail hour while Caroline and Brent took a breath on their own. At five, the entrances began, followed by the first dance, a father-daughter dance, and a mother-son dance, then speeches from the people closest to them.

The band played. People danced. And that was exactly the point — Caroline and Brent asked for a reception they could live inside without feeling watched, so we stayed at the edges and let the night be theirs.
