Brooklake Country Club multicultural wedding

Poorva & Liam

Poorva & Liam’s Outdoor Wedding at Brooklake Country Club

Poorva & Liam’s wedding at Brooklake Country Club in Florham Park, NJ was a vibrant celebration of love, family, culture, and the great outdoors—exactly the elements this couple holds closest to their hearts. Their day beautifully blended Gujarati traditions, nature-inspired design, and heartfelt personal moments that made this fall wedding unforgettable.

We were honored to capture their full story through photography and film, documenting every emotional beat—from the joy of the baraat to the quiet moments during their first look.

Their Love Story

Poorva and Liam met in their university. They formed a close friendship that lasted for years, even through cross-country moves and career changes. When Poorva moved back to the East Coast after grad school, the two reconnected naturally.

Their official love story began in Vermont during a camping trip, which sparked a new chapter filled with NYC date nights, weekend road trips, and international adventures. In December, on a cold night by the water with New York City glowing behind them, Liam proposed. It was simple, intimate, and entirely them.

Planning a Wedding That Felt True to Them

For Poorva and Liam, the most important priorities were:

  • Having friends and family feel comfortable and welcomed

  • Blending both cultures with intention

  • Keeping nature and outdoor elements at the center

  • Staying present, happy, and connected throughout the day

Their wedding style was inspired by nature’s serenity, Gujarati traditions, and meaningful décor that blended their families and identities. The morning embraced soft pastels and natural tones, while the evening transitioned into rich reds, peach, yellow, and warm jewel tones—each part of the day reflecting a different facet of their heritage.

Why They Chose Brooklake Country Club

Brooklake Country Club quickly became the most fitting place to bring their vision to life. Its expansive outdoor spaces offered the natural setting they dreamed of, while the venue’s experience with Indian and multicultural weddings gave them a sense of ease. The layout made it practical to host a full-day celebration with multiple components, and they felt reassured knowing they’d be surrounded by a team that truly understood their needs.

Peter, one of Brooklake’s key coordinators, played a tremendous role in helping them feel confident throughout the planning process. He guided them with care, answered every question, and made their experience feel seamless—a quality that is so important for multicultural couples balancing ceremonies, traditions, and family expectations.

This is exactly where our expertise fits in as well. We help couples manage multicultural timelines, guide them through ceremony flow, and work hand-in-hand with venues like Brooklake to keep everything smooth, organized, and stress-free. With the right team, couples like Poorva and Liam are able to simply enjoy the day.

A Day Filled With Meaningful Moments

Poorva and Liam’s wedding was a collection of moments that revealed exactly who they are—joyful, heartfelt, and wonderfully intertwined with their families. The morning began with laughter during the traditional shoe-stealing ritual. Their niece and nephew took the role to heart, turning the whole exchange into a sweet, playful memory that had everyone smiling.

The baraat brought its own magic. Guests lit up the moment they spotted the toy horse making its entrance—a charming surprise that perfectly reflected the couple’s fun, lighthearted energy. It was the kind of detail people talked about all day long.

Later, as the day shifted from celebration to sentiment, the mother-son dance brought a tender stillness to the room. Watching Liam become emotional was a moment no one will forget, and it added a layer of warmth to the evening that felt incredibly genuine.

Then came the speeches—stories full of humor, gratitude, and heartfelt love. Each toast reminded everyone how deeply connected Poorva and Liam are to their community and how many chapters of their lives led to this day.

These are the memories they hope to relive every time they look at their photos and video: the warmth of being surrounded by their people, the nostalgia of their traditions, and the glow of a rose-tinted day they’ll carry with them forever.

Their Relationship in Their Own Words

Poorva and Liam describe their relationship as fun, quirky, and adventure-filled. They share core values, support one another through every season, and appreciate the qualities that make them both unique.

They’re rational yet warm, steady yet playful. They’ve grown and evolved together, and their love reflects effort, understanding, and mutual respect.

On their wedding day, the side of their relationship they most wanted captured was simple and genuine:
how happy and comfortable they are together.

From First Look to Final Dance

Both Poorva and Liam got ready at Brooklake Country Club, surrounded by the soft morning light and the people who mean the most to them. Their first look was emotional and grounding—a moment that allowed them to breathe together before the day unfolded.

The celebrations moved through a lively baraat, a meaningful Indian ceremony, a heartfelt Christian ceremony, portrait time around the grounds during golden hour, and an unforgettable reception filled with energy and love. Throughout the day, they looked forward most to the speeches, the dances, and the joy of spending time with family and friends who traveled from near and far to celebrate their story.
